Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to everyone who uses Kudigrain — farmers, cooperatives, buyers, warehouse operators, logistics providers and visitors to our website. It explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how it's protected.

We collect information you provide directly, and information generated by using the platform:

• Account information: name, email, phone number, password, and the organization or farmer profile you're linked to.
• Identity verification (KYC/KYB): government ID type and number, business registration details, and any supporting documents you submit to raise your verification level.
• Transaction & wallet data: listings, orders, bids, wallet ledger entries, escrow status and payment references. Kudigrain does not store your bank card details — those are handled by our settlement bank partner.
• Usage data: device information, IP address, and how you interact with the platform, collected to keep the service secure and reliable.

• To operate the marketplace — listings, orders, bidding, and escrow-backed payments.
• To verify your identity and meet know-your-customer (KYC/KYB) obligations.
• To detect and prevent fraud, and to enforce our Terms of Service.
• To communicate with you about your orders, wallet, and account.
• To meet legal and regulatory obligations, including those of our licensed banking and payment settlement partners.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:

• With the counterparty on a trade — limited to what's needed to fulfil an order (never your raw phone number or email; all buyer-seller contact stays on the platform).
• With our regulated banking/payment settlement partner, to hold and move escrow funds.
• With logistics and warehouse partners you choose to work with, for delivery and storage.
• With regulators or law enforcement, where legally required.
• With service providers who help us operate the platform, under confidentiality obligations.

Every change to sensitive records — listings, orders, payments, wallet entries — is written to an immutable audit log. Passwords are hashed, not stored in plain text, and financial ledger entries are append-only so a transaction's history can always be reconstructed and verified.

We retain account and transaction data for as long as your account is active, and afterwards for as long as required to meet legal, tax, and financial recordkeeping obligations — which, for trade and payment records, is typically longer than the life of your account.

You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate information, or request deletion of your account — subject to data we're required to retain for legal, tax, or dispute-resolution purposes. Contact us at privacy@kudigrain.com.ng to make a request.

We use essential cookies/local storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences (like light/dark mode). We don't use third-party advertising trackers.

Kudigrain is intended for use by adults trading commodities and is not directed at children under 18.

We'll update the "last updated" date above whenever this policy changes, and post material changes here before they take effect.
